WHAT IS PRIMARY RECRUITMENT?
Primary recruitment, which takes place at the beginning of every school year in the Fall, is the process by which active members of 6 of our NPC member chapters meet potential new members (PNMs) interested in joining the Panhellenic community. PNMs have the opportunity throughout this process to discuss with current members their sororities' values, ideals, and activities.
The primary recruitment period consists of three rounds: Chapter Pride, Investment, and Preference. In each round, PNMs will talk to fewer houses as they and the chapters narrow their options. Following the Preference Round, a PNM may be extended an invitation to join one of our chapters.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PRIMARY RECRUITMENT?
Any student who is not already an initiated member of an NPC organization is eligible to participate in Panhellenic formal recruitment and join a chapter if they are a regularly matriculated undergraduate student at The University of Utah. Any enrolled undergraduate student who has been granted full-time status may participate in formal recruitment, though each chapter has its own requirements for membership.
SPRING INFORMAL RECRUITMENT
Spring Recruitment is an informal and more casual intake process.
Not all chapters participate in Spring Recruitment, and we will announce who will be participating in the beginning of the Spring term.
